Last week, I announced something big on X:
I want to build 5 $100k MRR products within the next 3 years.
The reaction?
Mostly positive, with 1 very repeated question:
"How do you manage multiple projects without going crazy?"
I get this question in my DMs. A lot.
And for good reason - managing multiple things AND growing them all sounds insane.
It goes against ALL of the startup advice we've been given.
But trust me, I'm not superhuman. I just found a way that works:
By the end of this - all of this will make sense to you.
Let's begin 👇
1 - Same audience, same problem
The best part about my business is that I serve the same audience and help them solve the same problem.
My audience = Creators and entrepreneurs
Core problem = Growth and distribution
No random projects.
Mainly because I don't have the experience (and the distribution for it)
Makes sense, right? When you serve the same people, everything just... flows.
2 - The Dream Team Setup
I always build with 1 co-founder per project.
Their main job is to build the product.
My main job is to distribute and source ideas.
We shape the product together.
PS - we don’t have a defined ‘job description’ — I code extensively in the projects (maker at heart 😅) and they talk about marketing too.
The thing is - I am very much an indie hacker at heart, so the makers with me are not dealing with an influencer who doesn't know anything but comes on every first week of the month to collect his cheque.
We actually work together to build the product people want.
And it seems to be working.
And oh: We split equity, no salaries (max commitment🔥)
3 - Small > Big
Here's something wild - in 2024, you only need 2 people to build something HUGE.
Why?
- AI makes building easier
- You don’t rely on traditional media anymore
- More people = more meetings = less building
- Small team = quick decisions = fast growth
Some Real Talk 🎯
Let me hit you with some truth bombs:
1 - Big teams feed the ego. Only hire when it hurts.
2 - Small teams of great people get shit done.
3 - Yes, I code in most projects. I'm not out of the game.
4 - Each partnership is different (equity depends on history, current progress, etc.)
"But why not focus on ONE thing?"
I get this question a lot.
Here's my take:
Distribution is everything in today's world.
I'm building a distribution ENGINE.
And guess what? This engine works better when it powers multiple projects.
TLDR:
- Find amazing co-founders
- Stay laser-focused on your audience
- Keep the team small
- Build that distribution engine
That's it!
No fancy frameworks, no complex systems. Just pure focus and great partnerships.
Hit reply and let me know - what's your approach to managing multiple projects? Or are you team "one thing at a time"?
