How I acquired Typeframes

Hey there
I acquired 9 products in the last 2 years, and this is the story of the first one I bought as an individual.
How I acquired Typeframes 👇
Remember when Lilian shared about Typeframes on Twitter? I was blown away. It was one of those moments when you see a product and think, "Why didn't I come up with that?"

Videos are the future, there's no doubt about it. They're the most engaging format, and with the rise of platforms like TikTok, it's clear that this trend isn't slowing down.
But something was off. Suddenly, Lilian stopped sharing updates and stopped making improvements.
Here's the thing. I'm not a video whizz. Far from it. So when I saw what I could do with Typeframes, I decided to do something about it. I fought my way to Lilian and asked about buying Typeframes.
We found an agreement, including Lilian getting a share of future revenue. This drastically reduced my risk, and it felt like a win-win situation.
We kept things simple. An asset transfer, a contract over email, and voila! Everything was done in a week.

I've since hired a very talented maker, and I'm now using my audience to grow Typeframes (which, once again, shows the value of building on X or Linkedin).
Now, if you think about acquiring a business, here is my opinion:
  1. Don't buy companies, buy assets (products)
  1. When in doubt, start the conversation
  1. When in doubt, don’t buy
  1. Buy traffic or revenue, not tech
  1. Buy when you see a path to x10 the value
(If you want more, I wrote a more in-depth content here)
Remember, every acquisition is unique, and these points are just a starting guide. It's always recommended to seek professional advice when considering a business acquisition.
I hope this story is useful to you in some way, whether you're thinking about acquiring a product, or just curious about the process.
Now, if you want to check Typeframes, feel free to do so and tell me how you think it could be improved. I would love to see how you would use it to promote your products.
As always, feel free to reply to this email. I love hearing from you.
Thanks for being part of this journey with me.
Best,
Tibo
