5 Biggest Mistakes of 2025

As we near the end of 2025 - I’m slowly getting into the rewind + reflect mode.
Thinking about the year, in all of its aspects, helps me understand my ways and plan better for the year to come.
I am sharing all of these with you 🙏🏼
And I will start with my mistakes.
I thought my biggest mistake would be spreading myself too thin.
Working on too many projects. Losing focus. Burning out.
Turns out, that wasn't the problem at all.
All my projects are growing nicely. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for how 2025 turned out.

But that doesn't mean I didn't screw up.
Here are the 5 mistakes that actually hurt 👇🏼

1. I Still Don't Know How to Fix Feather

Every other project is growing. Feather.so is stagnating.
The tech is solid. I love using it personally. But the MRR isn't moving.
I know I need to change something fundamental, but I haven't figured out what yet.
That uncertainty bothers me more than the flat revenue.
This isn't a failure yet.
But it's a good brainstorming session waiting to happen.

2. I Predicted AI Stocks Would Explode... Then Did Nothing

I wrote about it. Here in this newsletter itself!
I told everyone Google was an obvious play because of AI dynamics.
But I didn't feel confident enough to go all in myself.
I bought some shares. Not nearly enough. The kind of position where gains feel nice but not life-changing.

3. Diversification Paid Off, But I Diversified Wrong

Having multiple projects worked beautifully.
But I regret not starting more AI-related projects in 2025.
Especially small, experimental ones. (fast experiments and instant feedback)
I built tools for creators and founders. I should've also built AI-first products while the opportunity was most obvious.
The wins I had were great. But I feel I left many other wins on the table.

4. I Didn't Launch TrustMRR (And Someone Else Did)

There's a project I regret not launching: TrustMRR.
Marc built it. It's exactly the kind of thing I would've loved to create.
I'm both jealous and genuinely impressed 😅. Huge congrats to him.
This one stings because I saw the opportunity and didn't act. He did.

5. The Partnership That Didn't Work

Even though SuperX.so is doing very well now, I have to acknowledge the partnership with Hieu was a failure.
We did great together at first. Then something shifted.
I'm not sure if I over-pressured him, or if he's just not meant for teamwork. Maybe both.
He felt we couldn't continue. That conversation was hard.
It ended well - I bought his shares, found Rob, and SuperX went from $1k to $13k+ MRR. But I can't ignore that I misread the partnership dynamics until it was already broken.
Finding the right co-founder matters more than finding the right idea. I should've spotted and tried to fix the issues with Hieu earlier.

What These Mistakes Taught Me

Before this, mistakes would equate failures.
Like a big red L written on my work.
Now it’s different: not all mistakes show up as failures. Some show up as missed opportunities.
Software I didn’t launch. Partnership I couldn’t save. New projects I didn’t start early.
These are not failures. But these are maybe’s…
“Maybe this could have happened…”
But that’s not how life works. So we move on. And focus on the now.
2025 was a great year despite these mistakes.
2026 will be better because of them.
I'm not beating myself up over any of this. But I'm paying attention to the patterns.

P.S. The best part about mistakes: they're only expensive if you don't learn from them. These lessons are already shaping my 2026 strategy.
